“I’m still feeding! I never thought I would feed this long, and I wouldn’t have done it without your help in the early weeks.”
“I know if I need any help that you are there ! Thank you for your help and support so far it’s come in handy and has been reassuring to know your there if I need you.”
“You came round and you showed me and then it all worked. Your visit was what changed it. If you hadn’t come, I would’ve stopped, definitely”
There is usually at least one other person at the group who is experiencing some of the things that you go through, so you never feel alone.
I am still breastfeeding my baby (now 17 weeks old), when I really was expecting not to be able to do it beyond 3 months. At times I was planning to give up, whereas now I know I can keep going and will probably do so for a lot longer than my most conservative estimates!.”
“I have been going to Babes since my baby was 2 weeks old (he is 13 months now.) Going to Babes helped with my confidence with feeding in front of people. As a new mum I felt awkward about feeding in public but having everyone there who is there to feed made me feel a lot better about it. If we didn’t have this group I wouldn’t have fed for as long as I have. I love this group! My aim at the start was to feed for 6 months and I am so proud of myself for feeding for over a year.”
“I think the support I’ve had has been fantastic. To have someone on the end of the phone for the first couple of weeks, and then a support group to come to is amazing. I feel really lucky that I live in this area!”
"The antenatal support prepared me for my journey and gave me an idea about how I wanted to feed"
